Well, just when I thought that I was going to get a break to save some cash for my next comic con, to my surprise, Alamo City Comic Con (ACCC) just announced that they will be having another one this year in October and has named it the Halloween Edition. Now I really do not have a problem with this, but we just had one on Memorial Day weekend, and now BAM, we have one on schedule for October in the same year.
For those of you who have never been to a comic con before, pretty much its a convention for those who enjoy stuff that deals with comic books, artwork, cosplay, vendors (i.e. toys, crafts, collectibles), Hollywood entertainers from movies and TV shows. It’s pretty much a nerd/geek holiday, haha. Why do I love it? For me, it’s great to get out and chat with people, look at the different artist that come to the event, sit in on panels to listen to different subjects and to see all the people who dress up in great costumes.
Now, most of these events are scheduled for 3 days over a weekend. You really do not have to attend all 3 days, but if you are trying to get autographs from celebrities, you may need to go for more than just one day, since the celebrities schedules are not set in stone. I have seen celebrities change their schedules, some having to cancel or even show up late. You may also see celebrities only be scheduled for one day. It’s pretty much all up to you on when you would like to attend. For me, I always get a 3-day pass, just so I can soak up all the events at my own pace.
Well, that’s pretty much about it for now, but as more details become available, I will be back to post here.
