Alamo City Comic Con 2018

Well once again, ACCC held its annual event in downtown San Antonio Texas at the Alamodome.

This year brought many different celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jeff Goldblum, Rick Moranis, William Shatner, and a bunch more. For this years event, I ended up getting a VIP pass for Rick Moranis, since I have always liked it work in the movies and television. I’m glad I was able to meet him because I figured I would probably never get the chance again.

You are probably asking yourself “what about Arnold Schwarzenegger?”, but no I did not get a chance to meet him. If I would have skipped my Paris trip a couple of months ago, I would have, but unfortunately money was a bit tight this year for ACCC. Luckily I was able to already meet Jeff Goldblum earlier this year in Dallas, so I was able to experience my sisters happiness in getting to meet him. I did get a few other autographs at the show for my collection, Theo Rossi (Juice, on Sons of Anarchy), William Zabka (Johnny, from Karate Kid and Cobra Kai), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark, on Game of Thrones), Kate Flannery (Meredith, on The Office), Oscar Martinez (Oscar, on The Office), and Creed Bratton (Creed, on The Office).

I primarily went autographs only this year and did not do any photo ops, but I do wish I would have gotten photos from the the cast members from The Office. Oh well. Other than that the convention was pretty good. There were some areas of improvement needed, since there was allot of confusion with the photo ops and panels. I was getting a bit frustrated at times because nobody in the staff was able to communicate good enough when questions came up. I know most of the staff was volunteers but there was many of them that just gave the “I don’t know” type answers without taking the effort to try and help get answers.

I’m just happy overall that I was able to meet Rick Moranis. He was such a nice guy and his private panel we had was amazing. It was also cool that even though he didn’t make the show, we were given autographs by Mel Brooks as part of the VIP experience. That was too awesome and a added plus for the event.

From a scale of 1 to 10, I would have to rate this years ACCC at a 7.5. The rating could have been a bit higher if the venue was back at the convention center rather than the Alamodome and if they would have had handouts with all the events and times. Other than that I was happy to attend this year and hope to be able to attend it next year.

Oh yea, I apologize about not having many pictures, but I really forgot to take more. I was to busy looking and walking around.
